Early $ totals in the Levy challenge, 2011

Here's a first look at where potential county executive candidates rank financially if they face soon-to-be-officially Republican Steve Levy, who faces re-election in 2011. The fundraising numbers, dating back to January, give only a baseline; the office-holders may have raised more since. But political junkies may use it to mark their progress going forward. Updated numbers are due in mid-July:

1. Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone(D): $411,981

2. Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone(D): $388,703

3. Suffolk Comptroller Joseph Sawicki(R): $235,913

4. State Sen. John Flanagan (R- Northport): $230,745

5. Suffolk Treas. Angie Carpenter (R): $149,959

6. Islip Supervisor Philip Nolan(D): $142,928

7. Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko(D): $7,386

8. Suffolk Legis. Vivian Viloria Fisher(D): $7,022

Levy's last report, in April, showed $3.9 million on hand after he put $300,000 into a "Levy for New York" campaign fund, also due to report in July.
