Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) apparently has made her mark at least one way in Washington -- the congressional newspaper The Hill today named the 43-year-old mom of two the third most beautiful person working on Capitol Hill. See here.
The Hill -- whose editors and reporters judge whatever entries are submitted -- noted Gillibrand's two-year work out program to get back into shape after having her last child.
"After adjusting to motherhood, Gillibrand seems to be back into her exercise groove," The Hill wrote, and quoted Gillibrand: "'Most of us are not Heidi Klum and Angelina Jolie, who look great the next day [after having a baby]. For me, it took a good two years.”
UPDATE: Kris Kitto, the editor of the Most Beautiful People feature in The Hill, said Gillibrand's office cooperated with the paper, but that the senator could never find time to sit for a picture -- so she sent in her own.
It was based on that picture that the staff of The Hill chose and ranked her so high.
But as to who nominated her?
"I can't tell you who nominated Gillibrand," he said.
Gillibrand spokeswoman Bethany Lesser said, "I don't know."
