GOP Senate scrum: Senor out, Malpass in

With Dan Senor out of the running for the GOP nomination to oppose Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, It looks like David Malpass, Wall St. economist, is jumping into the fray. Bruce Blakeman, the former Nassau GOP presiding officer, has been hovering close to the 25 percent of weighted support needed to make it into a primary, while others are still spoken of as possible candidates, including Rockland Executive Scott Vanderhoef and Orange Executive Ed Diana. On a GOP-wide level, the whole question seems to be taking a back burner to the combat between Rick Lazio and Steve Levy for the gubernatorial nomination.
