In Islip and B'khaven, Zeldin vows door-to-door campaign for Senate

Signs are out on the roads of Suffolk's 3rd Senate District, with the intent of pinning the MTA's payroll tax on first-term state Sen. Brian X. Foley (D-Blue Point). Now Lee Zeldin, one of the
Republicans who wants the seat, announces that he'll be walking the district door-to-door with the same message. The text of the Zeldin release, in part:

"Voters have been outraged over the Foley Payroll Tax that was created to bail out the New York City MTA.  Taxpayers have also been upset that Foley cast the deciding vote to eliminate the STAR Property Tax Rebate Check Program."

"Additionally, many Suffolk County residents, including Zeldin, are opposed to new state policies advanced by Senator Foley requiring licenses and fees for fishing in the Great South Bay and elsewhere."

It'll be interesting to research if this "New York City MTA" entity of which he speaks includes the Long island Rail Road and Long Island Bus, like the MTA does. But why nitpick when the man's on a roll?
