Islip Democrats eye Brightwaters mayor for supervisor run

Islip Democrats are talking to Brightwaters Mayor Joe McDermott about running for supervisor against recently appointed GOP incumbent Angie Carpenter.

In the village, candidates run under local party names. McDermott, a 12-year village resident, ran on the Unification Party line but is a registered Democrat. He is also an a member of Ironworkers Local 361.
