LIP has yet to run dry of scribe-turned-spokesman's work

The “Dry Martino” column appeared as usual last week in the Long Island Press even though its author Michael Martino is now working as press secretary for Nassau’s new County Executive Edward Mangano.

Martino said he left about four columns “in the can” at the weekly newspaper run by Jed Morey, including a farewell piece. That means Dry Martino could continue to appear and re-appear for weeks to come since Morey owns the work.

To take his new job, “I had to let go of the column,” Martino said. “I’ll miss it.”
