Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, who has promised to reform the county's property-tax assessment system, has won a court victory that could be filed under Department Of Be Careful What You Wish For.

A judge gave Mangano the right to fire all nine members of a county tax-appeals tribunal, and assuming a higher court does not reverse that judge, Mangano will be able to name his own commissioners. (See story here.)
