Nassau: Mangano eyes second-term shakeup

Fresh off a decisive re-election victory, Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and his chief Deputy Rob Walker are considering reshuffling the leadership in various Nassau departments.

Speculation has County Attorney John Ciampoli, who's served as state elections lawyer for Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), on his way out -- with Parks Commissioner Carnell Foskey, a former family court judge, as his possible replacement. Ciampoli on Tuesday declined comment.

Changes in the police department heirarchy also are being discussed.

Asked about the speculation, Mangano spokesman Brian Nevin said Tuesday, “The administration is re-evaluating each position within the County during this transition period to ensure government is operating efficiently and effectively for the residents of Nassau County.”

He declined to identify individual changes, saying in an email, “We will provide comment tomorrow."
