Democrats in the Nassau Legislature will be sworn in on Jan. 4 by Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, a prominent favorite-son of the county party.

Meanwhile, DiNapoli’s office is reported to be focusing on an issue of importance to his old stomping grounds — the Belmont Stakes — by  issuing subpoenas for documents from the New York Racing Association.
