Said Paterson today, per Newsday's Reid Epstein, when asked why he called in Cuomo as scandal investigator::
"I referred the case away from the state police to the AG's office which is the appropriate jurisdiction. The AG took all of those matters into account.... When it comes to law enforcement, you're really supposed to examine the case on its merits and without outside intervention."
Yeah, and governors aren't supposed to make phone calls and direct back-channel official attention to domestic abuse claimaints/witnesses against their top aides.
