House Speaker Paul Ryan will appear Tuesday night at a closed-door fundraiser in Hauppauge for Rep. Lee Zeldin’s re-election campaign, aides to the congressmen said.
For the past month, Ryan (R-Wis.) has traveled across the country to campaign for Republicans in a bid to retain majority control of the House.
This will be Ryan’s second appearance for Zeldin, of Shirley, who is seeking a second term after ousting longtime Rep. Tim Bishop, a Southampton Democrat, in his previous election.
Ryan appeared at a $500-per-person fundraiser for Zeldin at a private home in Nissequogue on Aug. 30.
The fundraiser will be hosted by the law firm of Quatela, Hargraves & Chimera.
That fundraiser will follow a 7 p.m. Zeldin volunteer appreciation event at Portuguese Hall in Farmingville, which according to an email announcement, will feature “a surprise special guest.”
Zeldin spokeswoman Jennifer DiSiena declined to identify the surprise guest. Ryan campaign aide Zack Roday said in an email that Ryan is going to a closed-press event for Zeldin on Tuesday evening.
