Below is the script of Suffolk Executive Steve Levy's first radio ad in his campaign for governor. During the LCA show Saturday, one of the lines is that Levy's Long Island accent makes Dean Skelos sound like he's from Canada. Western New York longshot Carl Paladino has also put up an audio spot, but Rick Lazio has not. The three are running for the Republican nomination.

"I am Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, and I am running for Governor to radically reform our dysfunctional state government. We’ve had scandal after scandal and a lack of leadership that has brought us to the brink of bankruptcy.

As County Executive, I inherited the largest deficit in my County’s history and turned it into a surplus and six years in a row without a general fund tax increase.

During the upcoming campaign, I’ll be presenting my Contract for New York to cap state spending, cap local property taxes, waive capital gains taxes to spur economic growth, control public pension costs, disability and Medicaid fraud, and expand school choice.

Some say I am crazy to run on such a specific platform; you’ll alienate every special interest they say. That’s okay, because now, if you want a proven tax-cutting executive to radically change this State, save us from bankruptcy, and make us proud to be New Yorkers again, you will have a real choice.
