Schneiderman's 8-point plan for AG's office

As the Democratic New York Attorney General candidates intensify their campaigns leading up to the Sept. 14 primary,  State Sen. Eric Schneiderman (D-Manhattan) released a sweeping plan Tuesday for eight areas over which he says he would preside if elected to the office.

Schneiderman touches on civil rights, consumer protection, criminal justice, the environment, financial services and investor protection, gay and lesbian rights, health care and public integrity reform.

“As these detailed reform proposals demonstrate, I will fight for progressive justice every day on behalf of hardworking New Yorkers," Schneiderman said.

"As Attorney General, I will stand up to powerful special interests, insist that corporations play by the rules, and follow investigations wherever the facts lead - independent of political considerations.”
