An hourlong rally against the Trans Pacific Pact outside the Garden City office of Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-Garden City) included several unions as well as  citizens who oppose the controversial trade agreement and its fast-track legislation.

Among those represented Monday were Mario Cilento, president of the NYS AFL-CIO; Lisa Tyson, Long Island Progressive Coalition leader; Eric Weltman, of Food and Water Watch; Roger Clayman, of the Long Island Federation of Labor; and Aaron Abel, of the Working Families Party.

Others attending included communications and auto workers' union locals.

The rally demonstrators lambasted Rice for her favoring "fast-track" authority for TPP. Previous rallies had targeted Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley).
