Judge denies Kenneth Auerbach's bid for monitor to count votes from Conservative convention

A State Supreme Court justice has thrown out the bid of Suffolk Conservative Party insurgent Kenneth Auerbach to get a special monitor to count votes from the minor party's upcoming convention, where Auerbach is seeking to oust Chairman Frank Tinari .

Westchester State Supreme Court Justice Charles D. Woods, who issued the final decision last summer upholding Tinari's election two years ago, called the request “inappropriate” in a decision handed down Wednesday.

Auerbach, a former Brookhaven Conservative co-leader, acknowledged that his bid for a special monitor was a long shot. But he said, “the long and short of it is that we were looking for transparency and simply a fair count of the vote, so the will of the people will be honored.”
