Web site attacks Nassau Republicans

An anonymous Facebook page — Nassau 2011 Project — is skewering incumbents, but only Republican incumbents so far.

It was brought to our attention by John Rennhack at a Tea Party rally in Massapequa last week.

“I found this on the floor,” Rennhack said, handing a Newsday reporter a flier attacking local Republicans, including Legis. Peter Schmitt of Massapequa, the presiding officer of the Nassau County Legislature.

“Join the ‘Nassau 2011 Project’ on Facebook for more,” the flier said.

The Facebook page says, “The Nassau 2011 Project purpose is to expose lying politicians in Nassau County and defeat them in the 2011 elections.”

The page has one member so far, someone named Joe Nassau.

Rennhack, a Democrat, ran against Schmitt last year.
