Roads, rails clear as morning commute begins
Commuters early Wednesday appeared to be encountering no major issues on roadways or trains.
Neither the state Department of Transportation nor the Long Island Rail Road reported any morning travel issues at its website.
Informny.com, the DOT site, posted no traffic alerts, and traffic cameras on Long Island's major roadways showed virtually no congestion.
The LIRR site, mta.info/lirr, reported "good service" on all branches.
The service reported only one significant issue overnight: The 1:36 a.m. westbound train from Babylon was operating 60 minutes late because of equipment trouble at Bellmore.
That train was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 2:15 a.m.
