A small craft advisory is in effect through Wednesday for several areas of Long Island, the National Weather Service said.
The advisory stretches to Wednesday afternoon and includes Moriches Inlet to Montauk Point; Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet; and Sandy Hook, N.J., to Fire Island Inlet.
Gradual clearing is expected Tuesday for Long Island, with sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, the service said.
However, morning conditions are likely to including lingering rain and some fog, the service said.
The service's Upton office said a dense fog advisory for most areas, including Long Island Sound, expired at 6 a.m.
