Suffolk County anniversaries


TINSDALE of Manorville, formerly of West Babylon, were wed June 1, 1947, in St. Brigid's Church in Ridgewood. They celebrated with dinner at Danfords in Port Jefferson followed by a party at the home of their son. Ed served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from the New York Telephone Co. in 1983. The couple have two children and five grandchildren.

55thKIKI AND NICHOLAS SCAROS of Medford celebrated May 19. Their children surprised them with a cruise to Bermuda. The couple retired from Stony Brook University and are active members of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption in Port Jefferson and the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.

50thLIZ AND BOB BARRATT of Cutchogue, formerly of Cedar Knolls, N.J., were wed March 16, 1962, in Bristol, England. They celebrated with a surprise party at the Jamesport Manor Inn, hosted by their two daughters. The couple moved to the U.S. in 1966. Bob is a retired engineer at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Livingston, N.J. Liz is active in the Southold Historical Society. They have six grandchildren.

50thMARY AND FRANK FALLON of Commack were wed June 9, 1962. They celebrated by renewing their vows at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church in Sayville and dinner at Prime in Huntington, hosted by their children. Frank is retired from the NYPD and is also a retired detective investigator from the Suffolk County district attorney's office. Mary is a retired part-time secretary for the Suffolk County Detective Investigators PBA in Bohemia. They have five children and eight grandchildren.


OSTROV of Manorville were wed May 23, 1962. They celebrated by renewing their vows and with dinner at Bryant & Cooper in Roslyn with family. Sheldon is the owner of a wholesale bakery. Linda runs her own specialty bakery. They have three children, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

50thCORENE AND RONALD B. WOOD of Manorville were wed May 20, 1962, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Bay Shore. They celebrated with dinner at Trumpets on the Bay in Eastport and a trip to a resort in New Paltz, a gift from their three children. A Panama Canal cruise is planned. Ronald is a retired supervisor from LILCO. Corene is a retired records manager from Brookhaven National Laboratory. They have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
