Suffolk County anniversaries, Feb. 14



ALBANESE of West Islip celebrated their Jan. 20 anniversary and Frank's 88th birthday at Italiano's Restaurant in West Islip. They enjoy boating and remain active in the West Islip Republican Club and volunteer at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The couple have five children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


CONNIE AND ED CARAVALHO of West Babylon were married Jan. 17, 1960. The couple were childhood sweethearts. They celebrated by having a special Mass said at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church in Wyandanch. Connie is retired from Western Suffolk BOCES in Dix Hills. Ed is retired from Stop & Shop in Setauket. The couple has one son.


HILDA AND HANK LOZANO of Ridge, formerly of Farmingdale, celebrated Jan. 10 with family and friends at the Miller Place Inn. Hank is a retired insurance salesman and soccer official. Hilda is a homemaker who enjoys craft projects. They have three children and five grandchildren.


JOAN AND KARL MEYER of Holbrook and Coconut Creek, Fla., were married Dec. 27, 1959. They celebrated with a brunch at Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue. A trip to Italy is planned. Joan is a retired elementary school teacher and had a second career in social services. Karl retired from his private practice as a doctor of optometry. They have three children and three grandchildren.


MARY AND RICHARD PIROLA of East Northport celebrated Jan. 23. Their children surprised them with a party at La Villini in East Northport. They have three children and five grandchildren.


MICHELLE AND PETER MAIER of South Setauket celebrated July 27 with a family gathering followed by a vacation to Bar Harbor, Maine. Peter is retired from Brookhaven National Laboratory, the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S Coast Guard. Michelle is a teacher with the Three Village school district. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
