A Thursday night pedestrian safety checkpoint in Lindenhurst resulted in 19 summonses and an arrest, Suffolk County police said.

Officers conducted the checkpoint from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the intersection of North Wellwood Avenue and Fremont Street, police said.

Police said about 14 vehicles were stopped during that time period. Some of the motorists were cited for failing to stop at a crosswalk and using cellphones.

Officers arrested one driver, Jesse Stabile, 36, of Lindenhurst, and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
