Suffolk County police are investigating a single-car accident in Central Islip that killed a teenage passenger and injured the driver and another passenger early Thursday.

Third Squad detectives said Ulices Canessa Villatoro, 19, was driving a 2005 Acura TL south on Lowell Avenue shortly after midnight when he lost control, left the road and struck several trees.

A passenger in the rear driver's-side seat, Andrew O'Connor, 18, of Rocky Point, was critically injured. He was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he later died.

Canessa Villatoro, of Islip Terrace, and George Shody, 17, of Islip Terrace, who was a rear-seat passenger, were seriously injured in the wreck, police said.

Canessa Villatoro was treated at Southside Hospital for a fractured arm and possibly a fractured hip; Shody, of Islip Terrace, was treated for back injuries.Joel Fernandez, 18, of Islip Terrace, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was not injured, according to police.
