Three Brentwood men were among a group arrested after police pulled them over in a stolen Toyota Tundra Thursday, police said.
Around 2:50 p.m., police officers working on an enhanced patrol of the Brentwood area pulled over the truck on Second Street with five people inside, police said. The officers determined the truck was stolen and detectives charged three men with the theft, police said.
Further investigation revealed four of the people inside the truck were suspected in a West Babylon burglary earlier in the day, police said.
Willy Martinez, 18, of 120 Third St. and David Escalante, 19, of 74 Second St. were both charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. Josue Flores, 25, of 120 Third St., was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
Two juvenile females inside the truck also were charged with burglary. Their names were not released. Martinez, Escalante and Flores were scheduled for arraignment Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
The Suffolk police department has instituted extra patrols in Brentwood after a recent spate of attacks in the community and neighboring Central Islip, where nine people were killed last year and another five have been killed since January.
