Police: Huntington Station man struck by car seriously hurt

A Huntington Station man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross New York Avenue late Monday night in Huntington Station, police said.

Suffolk County police said Anael Santiago, 29, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of unspecified "serious" injuries. He was struck by a 2010 Toyota Camry near Depot Road at 10:25 p.m., police said.

Police said the driver of the Camry, identified as Marie Cantave, 53, of Huntington Station, was not injured in the crash.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Cantave was not charged.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the crash to call Second Squad detectives at 631-854-8252.
