Suffolk police said a motorist lost control of her car along Sunrise Highway in Brookhaven Wednesday morning and crashed into a wooded area, overturning the vehicle and causing minor injuries to herself and two passengers.

A Fifth Precinct officer saw Michelle Turner, 21, of Bellport, driving a Toyota Avalon along the highway near Station Road at about 11:35 a.m. when the crash occurred, police said. The vehicle swerved into woods on the eastbound side of the road.

Turner and her passengers were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries.

She is charged with reckless driving, police said.
