A North Amityville man is facing child endangerment charges for leaving six kids, including two 5-year-olds, home alone, Suffolk police said.

First Precinct officers responded to a "domestic incident" at a home on East Somerset Road at 10:45 p.m. Friday, police said.

The officers discovered the children, who had been left without any adult supervision for an hour to an hour and a half, according to police.

There were two 5-year-old boys, a 6-year-old boy and girl, and an 8-year-old boy and girl, police said.

At about 2 a.m. Saturday, Boyd Carrington, 43, returned to the home and was arrested. Carrington is the father of three of the children and the uncle of the others, police said.

He is charged with six counts of endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree assault in the domestic incident. He was to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.

The children were released to a family member.
