An Amityville resident has been charged with killing a man whose body was found burning in Manorville last Thursday, police said Sunday.

Suffolk County Homicide Squad detectives arrested Bryan RosalesMejia, 21, and charged him with killing German Guzman, police said.

Guzman, 36, of Amityville was found in the Otis Pike Preserve on Oct. 15 about 1:45 p.m. after a motorist on Wading River-Manor Road in Manorville noticed a fire on the side of the road, stopped and discovered it was a burning body, police said.

RosalesMejia was charged with second-degree murder.

He was arraigned Sunday morning at First District Court in Central Islip and ordered held without bond, according to online court records. His court-appointed attorney could not be reached for comment.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
