A 29-year-old Calverton man was scheduled for arraignment Sunday after being charged with driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning in Riverhead with his 2-year-old daughter in the car.

Vidales Valle, of 711 South Ave., was arrested under Leandra's Law after he entered a police sobriety checkpoint shortly before 12:30 a.m. while driving his 2000 Ford Expedition eastbound on Route 25A. Valle is charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and several traffic infractions.

Police said that when stopped, Valle showed signs of intoxication and that he was traveling with his wife and child, who was in a rear child booster seat.
