Car splits in two in Copiague accident

Juan Baez Rodriguez, 25, of Copiague, was alone in a 2004 Honda sedan when he smashed into a Long Island Power Authority pole on Marconi Boulevard in Copiague shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, Suffolk County police said. The vehicle was split in two, but Rodriguez only suffered cracked ribs and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. Police said there was no indication of intoxication, but Rodriguez was ticketed for reckless driving. Videojournalist: Paul Mazza (June 18, 2013)
