A 58-year-old Huntington Station man apparently suffered a medical emergency before crashing his pickup truck into two parked cars in a fatal accident early Tuesday evening in Huntington, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Gary Capek was transported by Huntington Community Rescue ambulance to nearby Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two occupants in one of the parked cars struck in the accident were not injured, police said.

The crash occurred on New York Avenue at 5:40 p.m.

Police said Capek was driving a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck northbound on New York Avenue when he likely suffered the medical episode, the Ford leaving the roadway and striking the two cars, which were parked in a driveway.

The pickup was impounded for a safety check.

The investigation is continuing.
