Suffolk County homicide detectives said Monday they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Central Islip woman.
Shantel Scott, 27, was found unconscious in her home on Naples Avenue, where a party had been held, sometime early Sunday, police said.
One of the other residents of the house took her to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Police said the party went into the early morning hours on Sunday.
A police spokeswoman said no other information was being released, including whether Scott had injuries.
The Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine Scott’s cause of death, police said.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
