Suffolk County Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck multiple trees and caught fire in Manorville on Saturday.

Police said the driver had fled the scene by the time first responders arrived, but the 2006 Chevrolet Impala had been traveling west on Moriches-Middle Island Road when it hit a tree just west of Weeks Avenue shortly after 7 a.m.

The car traveled another 1,000 feet, veering off the road and hitting multiple trees before becoming engulfed in flames, police said.

The vehicle was impounded and the investigation is ongoing, officials said.
