A Greenlawn deli clerk faces criminal charges after he sold alcohol to a minor, police said.
The clerk's Saturday night arrest was made in conjunction with a Suffolk County police crackdown on alcohol and tobacco compliance violations at a handful of businesses in the Town of Huntington. The operation took place between 8 and 10 p.m.
In a Sunday news release, police said the five other establishments checked were all found to be in compliance.
However, Roberto Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 43, was arrested at Brothers Deli on Broadway in Greenlawn, police said. He was charged with first-degree and second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child after police said he sold alcohol to an underage police agent.
Police did not give an address or hometown for Rodriguez-Rodriguez, who was given a field appearance ticket. He is scheduled for arraignment April 26 in First District Court in Central Islip.
