A Flushing man was seriously injured Saturday in a crash after he lost control of his motorcycle in Lake Grove and was struck by a driver who fled the scene, Suffolk County police said.

James Dang, 31, was riding his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Moriches Road, south of Jericho Turnpike, when he lost control of the bike and ended up lying in the road about 1:35 a.m., police said.

Dang was subsequently struck by a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene, police said. The motorcyclist was dragged approximately 800 feet by the SUV, a Suffolk police spokeswoman said.

He was transported by the Centereach Fire Department to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

Fourth Squad detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 631-854-8452 or call anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
