Cops: Driver hits home after 'medical episode'

A man lost control of his car, crashing through a fence and into a house in West Babylon, after suffering what police called "a medical episode" early Tuesday morning.

The driver, identified as Joseph Bonner, 27, of West Babylon, was not injured -- but was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for precautionary reasons.

Two residents of the home were not injured, either, Suffolk County police said.

The accident occurred on Phoenix Road at 12:35 a.m.

Police said that a medical problem Bonner caused him to lose control of his 2003 Infiniti, struck the fence, crossed the lawn and crashed into a sunroom attached to the home.

No charges were filed, and police said the main structure of the home was undamaged.
