Cops: Fight in Central Islip; 2 found hurt

A man is in critical condition after a fight in the road in Central Islip on Saturday that also left his son with injuries, Suffolk County police said.

Police said they received a call reporting a fight on Peach Street at 8:50 p.m. Saturday. Officers arrived to find Luis Gonzalez, 50, unconscious and suffering from a head injury.

His son, Jonathan Gonzalez, 28, also had a head injury. Police said both men are from Suffolk, but would not specify which community.

Father and son, who were not fighting each other, were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Luis Gonzalez was admitted in critical condition. Jonathan Gonzalez was treated and released, police said.

Police are searching for others who may have been involved in the fight.
