Cops: Islip mom kept crack, cocaine where kids slept

A Central Islip woman has been arrested on drug, forgery and child endangerment charges after Suffolk County police said they found her two children sleeping in a bedroom where crack cocaine and cocaine were being kept.

Toniah Henderson, 41, of 79 Miller Ave., was arrested at 7:30 a.m. Saturday after Third Squad detectives from the narcotics enforcement/special operations team executed a search warrant, police said.

Detectives said they found an unspecified quantity of crack cocaine, cocaine, several $20 bills and a scale. Police said they also found a dead dog in a pen in the backyard.

The children, 3 months old and 4 years old, were sleeping in a bedroom where some of the crack and cocaine were found, police said.

Henderson is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a forged instrument, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Arraignment details were not immediately available Wednesday.
