A homeless man was arrested and charged with burglarizing six Lindenhurst homes and a business within a six-day period, police said Wednesday.
Andrew Van Bourgondien, 22, was arrested Tuesday after officers responded to a 911 call of a burglary in progress at a home on Frank Street about 7:40 p.m., police said.
First Precinct officers, along with canine and aviation units, searched the area, police said, and located Van Bourgondien about an hour later on the roof of the FVSA Soccer Academy, 831 N. Queens Ave.
Van Bourgondien was charged with six counts of second degree burglary and one count of third degree burglary related to burglaries in the Lindenhurst area between Aug. 22 and 28, police said.
He was arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, Central Islip, and ordered held on $130,000 bond or $65,000 cash bail, pending his next court appearance Saturday.
