Cops: Motorcyclist dies in W. Babylon crash

A motorcyclist was killed when his vehicle slammed into the back of a car in West Babylon on Saturday morning.

Jorge Alberto Marquez Arguete was riding his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle when the vehicle crashed into the rear of a 2009 Honda Accord that was stopped in traffic on westbound Sunrise Highway at 10:50 a.m., Suffolk County police said.

Arguete, 32, of Commack Road, Commack, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Accord, Julio Batista, 55, of Coram, was not injured.

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating the crash. They ask anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
