Cops: Nesconset man charged in robbery spree

A Nesconset man robbed four Suffolk County businesses and burglarized a house over a two-week span, police said Monday.

Fourth Squad detectives conducted an investigation into "numerous armed robberies" and arrested Joseph Botti Sunday on Middle Avenue in Holtsville, according to a police news release.

He is charged with robbing four businesses:

Citgo, 545 North Country Rd., St. James, Dec. 14

Party Hardy, 145 Smithtown Blvd., Nesconset, Dec. 16

Game Stop, 117 Alexander Ave., Lake Grove, Dec. 19

Ralph's Italian Ices, 221 Smithtown Blvd., Nesconset, Dec. 9.

Police said he also burglarized a home on Truval Lane in Nesconset Dec. 21.

In the news release, police did not say how investigators tied the suspect to the cases.

Botti, 27, is charged with three counts of second-degree robbery, one count of third-degree robbery and one count of second-degree burglary.

He was arraigned Monday and held on bail of $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond. An order of protection was also issued against him, online court records show.
