A 32-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Thursday morning in North Patchogue, police said.

Daniel Barosa, of North Patchogue, was crossing Waverly Avenue in front of the Waverly Point Plaza Shopping Center when he was struck by a southbound 2009 Honda Accord at 2:05 a.m., Suffolk County police said.

The driver, Robert Myers, 29, of Patchogue, and his 5-year-old son were in the car.

Police said Barosa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither Myers nor his son was injured -- and police said Myers was not charged.

The car was impounded for a safety check.

Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
