Cops probe Lindenhurst bank robbery

Detectives are seeking information on a bank robbery Monday in North Lindenhurst in which a man handed a teller a note that demanded money and threatened violence, Suffolk County police said.

The man -- described as having a muscular build, being about 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and in his late 20s -- entered the Citibank at 120 East Sunrise Hwy. at about 10 a.m. and handed over the note, police said. After the teller gave him cash, the man, wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, black sneakers and a black baseball cap with a red brim, fled on foot, according to police.

Anyone with information can call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
