Homicide detectives on Thursday asked for the public's help identifying and finding suspects in the gunshot death of a man whose body was found early Saturday in a Brentwood parking lot.

"Witnesses told police that a fight between approximately five individuals took place before the man was killed. It was determined that the victim died from a single gunshot wound," detectives said in a crime alert.

To assist in solving the case, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward of as much as $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the death of Edgar A. Perez-Avalos, 30, of Brentwood.

Perez-Avalos' body was found at 3:50 a.m. Saturday in a lot across the street from the Migueleno Sports Bar, 165 Clarke St., Brentwood.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call make a confidential, anonymous call to 800-220-TIPS.
