Cops: Suspect held in three residential burglaries

While investigating a burglary in Dix Hills, Suffolk County detectives located and arrested a Deer Park man, whom they said last month had committed two other burglaries on his own block.

James Lovret, 30, of Christopher Court, was arrested Sunday on Pine Acres Boulevard and Old Country Road, Deer Park, police said, and charged with three counts of second-degree burglary.

First squad detectives had been responding to a home burglary earlier in the day on Baldwin Path when at 4:45 p.m. they started canvassing the area, police said.

Police found the suspect on Pine Acres Boulevard and Old Country Road in Deer Park.

Lovret, held overnight at the First Precinct, was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Central Islip.

Police are asking anyone with information on this or other area burglaries to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 800-220-TIPS.
