Cops: Traffic stop leads to DWI arrest

A man stopped for a traffic infraction Saturday night in Water Mill was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, police said.

Southampton Town police said Rodrigo Xot Tocay, 25, of East Hampton, was arrested after an investigation revealed he was intoxicated -- and it was determined his vehicle was not equipped with an interlock device, as required due to a previous conviction within the past 10 years.

Police said his license also had been suspended because of a previous DWI conviction.

Police said officers stopped Tocay on Montauk Highway in Water Mill at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday and said Tocay was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and with circumventing an interlock device. He was held for arraignment on Sunday.

Arraignment details were not immediately available.
