Coram bar owner, workers face charges in underage sting

A bartender and hostess were arrested Thursday, charged with illegally selling alcohol to a minor in Coram, Suffolk police said.

Suffolk County police said the liquor was sold to "an underage police agent" at the Casa Rica Lounge on Middle Country Road.

Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers, patrol officers and investigators from the Town of Brookhaven, as well as the town fire marshal's office, were at the bar in conjunction with a State Liquor Authority inspection, police said Friday.

Arrested were bartender Osmin Fugon Bonilla, 21, of 5 Devon Rd., Hempstead, and hostess Nancy Sarai Morales, 29, of 162 Princeton St., Hempstead. Both were charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child for selling alcohol to a minor.

Bar manager Ismael Ramos Hernandez, 35, of 149 Fairview Blvd., Hempstead, and the owner, Dona Mercedez Corp., were issued eight summonses by the fire marshal and another eight by town investigators for building code violations, police said.

Arraignment information for Bonilla and Morales was not immediately available Friday.
