Three Riverhead residents are facing burglary charges after taking an oil burner, water heater and air-duct material from a Melene Street home, town police said Thursday.
Delshawn Moore, 35, George Trent, 23, and Roshell Ross, 31, were arrested on second-degree burglary charges at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday after Riverhead Town police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle.
When patrol units arrived they found Moore and Trent trying to carry the items from the rear of a home and Ross waiting in a truck with its engine running in the driveway, according to a department news release.
Police also found water damage to the basement of the residence "as a result of cutting the water lines," the release said.
The basement area was filled with water and "heavily damaged," the release said.
All three were arraigned Thursday at Riverhead Justice Court. Bail was set at $10,000 for Moore and also for Trent. Ross' bail was set at $1,000.
