Dozens of weapons, ammo seized from Babylon home

Police officers executing a search warrant on a home in Babylon seized 45 weapons and arrested the 27-year-old resident, Suffolk police said Friday.

Anthony Piromalli was arrested during the search at 87 Mayhew Ave. Thursday at 3:40 p.m., Suffolk police said. He was charged with three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Central Islip.

Police said Special Operations Team officers Thomas Kennedy and Gabor Kisheyi provided the information that led to the search warrant.

That warrant was executed by First Squad detectives and Emergency Services Unit officers. They seized 33 switchblade knives, eight handguns, three rifles, a shotgun and what was termed "a large quantity of ammunition" from the home.
