Driver charged after East Patchogue crash

A motorist speeding in East Patchogue rear-ended one vehicle on Montauk Highway Friday night, then careened into an oncoming vehicle, Suffolk police said.
Lester Russell, 31, of Manorville, was charged with driving while intoxicated and second-degree reckless endangerment.
He was speeding and weaving in and out of eastbound traffic when he struck the rear of one car about 6:40 p.m., police said.
The impact sent his vehicle into westbound Montauk Highway, where Russell crashed into a second vehicle, police said.
Russell and a passsenger in his car suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, police said.
No one in any of the cars suffered serious injuries.
Other details were not immediately available, police said.
