Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a multivehicle crash after the driver’s 2010 Nissan Maxima struck two parked vehicles on a street Thursday night in Shirley.

The crash occurred on Freestate Drive at about 9:35 p.m., Suffolk County police said. Police said responding officers arrived to find the driver gone — and damaged vehicles in the street.

Photos from the scene showed the front end of the Maxima badly mangled. Neither of the parked vehicles was occupied.

Police said firefighters were called to clean up minor fluid spills from the crash. The Maxima was impounded.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
